THE BRAND COLLECTION
Classé preamplifiers and power amplifiers
Classé focuses on the control and amplification stages of a serious music system. Its separate-component approach invites careful attention to the partnership between source, preamplifier, power amplifier and speakers.
An amplifier-led history
Classé grew from the partnership of Mike Viglas and engineer David Reich. Its first amplifier, the DR-2, arrived in 1980. The company name reflects that original design’s Class A operation.
Today’s Delta family includes preamplification and stereo and monoblock power amplification. Those are different roles: the preamplifier manages sources and volume, while the power amplifier supplies the loudspeakers.
Build around the speaker and the room
Separates offer flexibility, but they also require a clear plan for connections, gain, ventilation and physical space. Confirm what your digital and analog sources need before choosing the control component. Then consider the speaker load, listening distance and expected output when discussing amplification.
A rack layout matters as much as a component list. Allow access to rear connections and the ventilation specified for the exact model. Our services help relate these decisions to an existing system or a complete listening-room project.

Questions before you listen
What is Classé known for?
Classé is known for audio electronics, particularly preamplifiers and power amplifiers. Its history began with the DR-2 amplifier in 1980.
Do I need a separate preamplifier and power amplifier?
That depends on your system. Separate components provide different planning options from an integrated amplifier; source connections, space and loudspeaker needs help guide the choice.
Are Classé stereo and monoblock amplifiers interchangeable?
They serve related roles but have different channel layouts and system requirements. Confirm the exact models, speaker connections and installation plan before deciding.
