KEF loudspeakers and wireless systems
KEF brings a distinctive driver approach to a wide choice of loudspeaker systems. The brand offers both traditional passive speakers and wireless music systems, making the starting point a question of how you want to listen.
Research rooted in British loudspeaker design
Raymond Cooke founded KEF in 1961 in Maidstone, England. Its name came from Kent Engineering & Foundry, where the company first operated. Loudspeaker research remains a recurring theme in its development.
One of KEF’s central technologies is Uni-Q, which places the tweeter at the acoustic center of a midrange or bass/midrange driver. The arrangement brings those radiating sources together within the driver array.
Passive speakers or a connected system
Passive KEF loudspeakers become part of a system with an external amplifier and sources. Wireless KEF systems take a different approach by combining more of that functionality with the speakers. Connections, network features and control options vary by model.
Choose the format around your room and habits. Consider speaker positions, power outlets, listening distance and the equipment you want to retain. Our services bring component selection together with placement and acoustic planning, including subwoofer integration when appropriate.

Questions before you listen
What is KEF Uni-Q?
Uni-Q is KEF’s driver-array design that places the tweeter at the acoustic center of the surrounding midrange or bass/midrange driver.
Do KEF speakers need a separate amplifier?
Passive KEF models require external amplification. Wireless models include amplification and have their own source, power and control requirements.
Can I add a subwoofer to a KEF system?
That depends on the specific speakers and electronics. Confirm the available outputs and setup controls, then consider placement and crossover integration.
